Between hours spent preparing for competitive events and getting the final chapter banquet script just right, have you considered how your actions fit into the bigger goals of the National FFA Organization? While your chapter officer team is coming together to plan a killer Program of Activities, the National FFA Board of Directors also is working on organizational plans as FFA grows and changes.
“Just as agriculture has and continues to evolve, so must the opportunities within FFA,” says Scott Stump, FFA CEO. “From production to consumption, there are emerging careers like autonomous robotics and sustainability through which our students will shape the future and feed the world. I am excited for the new opportunities we’ll be launching in the years ahead to make students aware of, and ready for, the future of agriculture.”
While those new opportunities are still under development, it’s safe to say they will be laser-focused on the FFA mission as the organization quickly approaches its 100th anniversary.
“The most important role for FFA members in this vision is to say, ‘Yes!’ to the opportunities and experiences FFA provides,” Stump says. “When your advisor asks you to join a career development event or go to a leadership conference, saying ‘yes’ is your path to premier leadership, personal growth and career success.”
