If you’ve ever stayed home while friends and family attended the National FFA Convention & Expo, you’ve likely noticed – and even actively tuned into – RFD- TV’s live broadcasts of the event. RFD-TV brings viewers gavel-to-gavel coverage of the convention, including keynote speakers, musical performances, national officer elections and more. While the coverage is appreciated by FFA, it’s the highlight of RFD-TV’s year, says Patrick Gottsch, founder and president of RFD-TV.
“Not only does it provide a way for the more than 650,000 FFA members, parents and teachers who do not go to Indianapolis to watch all sessions live, but also it is a huge step forward in RFD-TV’s effort to reconnect city with country again,” Gottsch says. “Each year, I receive volumes of email from people all over our country who are absolutely amazed with FFA after watching the convention on RFD-TV. Many had no idea that such an organization exists, and then they want to know how they can get FFA into their own school systems.”
What’s more, RFD-TV’s Rural Radio channel airs the FFA Today episodes each Saturday. Rural Radio is the only national radio station devoted exclusively to rural programming, and the FFA Today show features stories of service, entrepreneurship and innovation by our dynamic members, advisors and chapters. The show also features interesting agricultural careers and industries, and it highlights the incredible speaking and musical talents of members from across the country.
