Scott Stump Named to National Work Readiness Council Board of Directors

Indianapolis (Thursday, May 2, 2024) – The National Work Readiness Council (NWRC) has named Scott Stump, CEO of the National FFA Organization and Foundation, the newest member of its board of directors.

The National Work Readiness Council is a national nonprofit workforce development, training, and advocacy organization formed by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The NWRC brings together research, ideas, and perspectives from education, workforce development, economic development, business and industry, and other foundational career readiness champions nationwide.

“It a privilege and an honor to join the National Work Readiness Council Board of Directors,” says Stump. “My entire career in education, including as leader of the National FFA, has been devoted to student success after high school graduation. I applaud the work the NWRC is doing alongside organizations like FFA to address the foundational skills gap that young workers face as they begin their careers.”

Stump brings decades of experience in education to his board governance, from roles as assistant secretary at the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education for the U.S. Department of Education and chief operating office at Vivayic Inc., to serving as Colorado state career and technical education (CTE) director and leading National FFA, the nation’s premier youth leadership organization.

The National FFA Organization’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education. Stump has been a part of FFA at nearly every level—student member, teacher advisor, state staff, and now the top executive of the national organization.

Stump has also served as a board member for Advance CTE and National SkillsUSA.
