In 2016, Monsanto and the American Red Cross announced a three-year partnership that expands the American Red Cross First Aid App to include rural safety. This collaboration formed to help ensure that individuals and families in both rural and urban communities have access to life-saving information and other safety resources. After downloading the app on your mobile device or tablet, this content is available with or without internet or data connection.

Monsanto decided to partner with the American Red Cross because it believes safety on the farm should always be top-of-mind, but that’s especially the case in times of high activity, such as planting and harvest season. The Red Cross First Aid App is a valuable preparedness tool for farming communities and anyone touched by agriculture.

Text “GETFIRST” to 90999 to get the app

The rural safety content covers topics like ATV, auger and tractor safety, safety around grain bins, and rural road safety. It also has a special section for child safety and one focusing on farm emergency preparedness (including natural disasters). The app is a valuable tool to help identify and avoid hazards, and mitigate some of the associated risks.

Downloading the app is easy. Simply text the word “GETFIRST” to 90999. Or you can search “American Red Cross” in the Apple App Store, Google Play or Amazon Marketplace or go to redcross.org/apps.
