Philly Students Grow at Fox Chase Farm

Fox Chase Farm is an agricultural education facility in Pennsylvania that hosts more than 30,000 visitors each year. It is also a campus of the Philadelphia School District and serves students in Philadelphia and surrounding areas. “Being here at the farm makes me feel excited because it’s something I’m not used to daily. It gives me a lot of opportunity to work with my hands,” says Northeast High School FFA member Efrain Montijo. “My favorite class taken here is definitely animal science,” he adds. “I think it’s really cool learning about the systems and all different kinds of animals and it’s an experience that I wish more kids were able to have.”

Take a look at how the farm engages pre-K through 12th-grade students in a variety of agriculture experiences.
