On December 12th, the Triton FFA Chapter visited Pinecrest Gardens Nursing Home to spread holiday cheer and deliver gifts. While delivering the gifts, Triton FFA members had the opportunity to spend time and socialize with the residents.
“Packing bags for the nursing home and going to visit has been a tradition for many years in Triton FFA. But we always choose a different nursing home based on which ones seem to need more holiday cheer than others!” Kamryn Wise, Triton FFA Vice President says.
The day before, Triton FFA packaged over fifty gifts, including fuzzy socks, popcorn, festive coloring books, drinks, and other goodies, to get the residents into the holiday spirit. All of the gifts had been donated by Triton FFA members for the residents during the holiday season.
“Having students help pack bags and deliver them helps show what the true meaning of the holiday is. We get to give back to our community, and impact others. The majority of the residents in the nursing home didn’t have families who would visit, so us coming to them just to spread some holiday cheer really brightened their days.” Kamryn says.
Twenty-five Triton FFA members packaged and gifted fifty-eight gifts total to gift to the residents, as they were Living to Serve this holiday season.
