After many hours of hard work and preparation, the Southside Charter High School FFA Chapter hosted a night of games and fun for its elementary school’s home-based preschool program.
Inspired by their love of serving the community, these members took matters into their own hands. They received an email from the event coordinator to get started, but it included many additional activities for participants.
Learning To Lead
The night began with games of all sorts, led by teams of two FFA members. The teams’ first task was to build the games so they were easy for smaller children to play and understand.
Next, each team ran the games and assisted the children. For example, they had to perform activities such as pin the tail on the horse, tic-tac-toe, bagg-o and more.
Members Lana Sherrill and Sydney Canard also taught preschoolers how to rope a calf. Southside Charter High School’s agriculture instructor, Cody Cornett, supervised the activities along with additional teachers from the program.
Takeaways
This was an engaging and entertaining night for the chapter. Everyone involved laughed and had fun.
Although it wasn’t the usual chapter night that students have attended in the past, it was an introductory activity for newer members. There were plenty of team-building games and competitive aspects for everyone to enjoy.
Hopefully, more chapters can be inspired by Southside Charter FFA and have nights like this.
