Annaleigh Mead is a sophomore at Southside Charter High School. She serves as her FFA chapter’s secretary, her 4-H club’s president, the Independence County 4-H teen historian and a 4-H state ambassador for Arkansas. Mead also loves spending her time playing volleyball, assisting her FFA chapter and, most importantly, serving her community.

One of Mead’s favorite community service activities is serving at the food pantry on her school’s campus. Every Thursday night, she dedicates her time to packing boxes of food and hygiene products for those in need. Since she was very young, Mead has enjoyed serving this organization and had a passion for helping others.

“[Community service] is a way to feel important in our community and spread love and kindness,” she said.

Mead recently won several awards, including the Arkansas 4-H Teen Star Award in 2023 and first place in public speaking at the Independence County Talks & Demos in 2024. In the future, she wants to pursue a degree in business or marketing and have her own family farm.
