UCAHS FFA Hosts First Responders Breakfast

The Uwharrie Charter Academy High School (UCAHS) FFA Chapter wanted to express appreciation for local first responders by providing them with breakfast.

This event was held on May 22, 2024, during First Responders Appreciation Week. UCAHS FFA officers set up a drive-through starting at 9 a.m.

“We feel like sometimes first responders are underappreciated, so we wanted to do something about it,” says UCAHS FFA Student Advisor Audrey Busick.

The event was made possible by a donation of freshly made biscuits from the local Biscuitville restaurant. The officer team also offered a variety of drinks for the first responders to choose from.

Additionally, the officers put together 100 goodie baggies with handwritten notes from chapter members. These were passed out to firefighters and members of the sheriff’s department in Asheboro, N. C., where UCAHS is located.

“We hope to make this an event we can host every year,” says Busick.
