The Bear Grass Charter FFA Chapter recently sold Hurricane Helene Relief T-shirts to FFA members and supporters all across North Carolina. The funds raised from the T-shirt sales were donated to Hurricane Helene victims in western North Carolina.

Hurricane Helene occurred in late September and had a major impact on North Carolina residents. More than 500,000 were affected, including more than 200,000 left homeless. Out of 100 North Carolina counties, 27 of them have FFA members who were left homeless.

The hurricane brought heavy rain, strong winds and flooding, which damaged homes and businesses. Many people lost power, and some were forced to evacuate due to severe flooding. Schools and businesses closed temporarily to keep everyone safe. It has taken a lot of effort from the community and the government to help people recover.

Bear Grass Charter FFA saw this issue as the holiday season approached and decided that it wanted to help. The chapter sold more than 800 T-shirts for $20 each.

The fourth line of the FFA Motto is “Living to Serve.” Bear Grass Charter FFA served the North Carolina families affected by Hurricane Helene by donating more than $16,000.
