Nestled in the heart of the Puget Sound on the coast of Washington lies the South Kitsap FFA Chapter.
In November, the chapter expresses its gratitude for those who have supported it the most by organizing a meaningful event. This special occasion, known as FFA’mily, brings together members, families and community supporters to celebrate the spirit of collaboration and dedication, and the deep appreciation these FFA members have for their community.
“This is our second year of hosting this event,” said Chloe Crutcher. She’s serving as the chapter reporter and loves sharing what the tradition has meant to her and her chapter.
“We take the opportunity to thank our supporters, community and family with a nice warm meal,” Crutcher said. “It’s a time for us to come together, express our gratitude and celebrate the bonds that unite us!”
But the warm meal isn’t the only reason these amazing individuals attend the event; donations and auction items this year were brought in to raise funds for FFA chapters in Florida that may have lost needed supplies due to Hurricane Helen. This is another great example of FFA members supporting one another, even from states away!
Support From the Community
No matter the support, members agree the event has helped shape the chapter’s appearance in their community. “It fosters a sense of community and togetherness, which makes everyone feel appreciated,” Crutcher said.
This year was the biggest one yet for the chapter, and young members can’t wait to continue to see the event grow. The chapter has a rich history that will be shared among generations through these special occasions.
Though it’s only the second year of this tradition, the South Kitsap FFA Chapter has created a unique opportunity to show support for those who have supported them.
