For Murray County, located in the northern hills of Georgia, National FFA Week is celebrated with a local livestock show. The Murray County School System partners to ensure a great time for this annual county tradition.
This event brings together families and community members to showcase the dedication of young exhibitors. Participants show pigs, cattle and goats, and demonstrate how to handle and present their animals.
Another highlight of this event includes the “Administrative Showmanship Showdown.” Each school invites one administrator, typically a principal, to learn the ropes of exhibiting livestock. When the time comes at the event, these administrators are turned loose in the ring to see what they can do.
