Each year, FFA chapters across the nation celebrate National FFA Week in their own way. Throughout Wisconsin, FFA chapters continue this celebration in multiple fashions. From pancake breakfasts to donkey basketball, these chapters truly have diverse recognitions of the week.

Pancakes Galore

Many chapters across the state prepared meals of pancakes, eggs, bacon and other agriculture products. Baraboo FFA and Mauston FFA hosted well-known pancake dinners, allowing community and FFA members to come together to celebrate. Another interesting event put on by other chapters, including Osseo-Fairchild FFA and Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau FFA, involved hosting a teacher appreciation breakfast.

Agriculture-Based Competition

Anyone who knows Wisconsin FFA members knows they are not afraid of a little competition. Many chapters hosted their “Ag Olympics” competitions. These chapters include Pulaski FFA, Argyle FFA, Brodhead FFA, Randolph Cambria-Friesland FFA and more.

From pedal tractor racing to milk chugging, these chapters did it all in their agriculture-based competitions.

Donkey Basketball

A true staple of Wisconsin FFA Week is donkey basketball. Melrose-Mindoro FFA, Baraboo FFA and more took part in this unique event.

But Wait — There’s More!

Many chapters across Wisconsin have other events, too. Granton FFA celebrated with dress-up days and an aluminum can drive. Bay Port FFA and Clinton FFA celebrated with agriculture and FFA trivia nights. Stratford FFA, Wisconsin Dells FFA and Owen-Withee FFA  recognized National FFA during their schoolwide assemblies.

Other unique events include the Portage FFA Leadership Workshop, the New Glarus FFA Chapter’s “Elementary Ag Day” event, the Montello FFA versus Westfield FFA Ice Fishing Contest and the Oconto Falls FFA Alumni Cornhole Tournament.

Celebrations of All Kinds

Wisconsin FFA chapters celebrated National FFA Week in a variety of ways. From breakfasts to cornhole tournaments and everything in between, members did what they could to celebrate. Additional chapters across the state have events similar to and different from the ones listed above.

No matter where you turn, the celebrations are endless in Wisconsin during February.
