Although the small town of Lamar, Ark., has a population of about 1,755, when you combine with smaller nearby cities, you get a giant community that’s like a family.
Each family has traditions, and one of this community’s favorites is the annual live nativity retelling that’s put on at the Bacchus Family Adventure Farm. The farm has annually put on a nativity for the community for the last 13 years, and the actors for the scenes are agriculture students and FFA members from the local high school who have volunteered.
The night is filled with all kinds of fun, including a Grinch that attendees can take pictures with in addition to refreshments like hot cocoa, lemonade, cider, cotton candy and pizza. As children play games in the event building, they can see the fun and exotic animals in the nursery and barn.
This is a tradition that brings so much joy to the community and allows attendees to disconnect. The chapter hopes to see it continue for years to come!
