My name is Nicholas Nishimura, and I am proudly serving as Hawaii's FFA in the USA Reporter for the 2024-2025 school year! I am currently a Sophomore, and am serving as Chapter President for the Waipahu FFA Chapter on Oahu!
Often, I feel that Hawai'i is not well represented when it comes to the FFA space, and I hope that through storytelling, conversation, and connection, I can spread the word and open up the knowledge surrounding Hawai'i FFA.
I specialize in Agriscience, and will be pursing my 3rd national title at the 97th Annual FFA Convention this November. I am also representing Hawaii for Creed this year on the national stage as well! My SAE project focuses on the cultivation and processing of high-lipid content algae for the production of biofuels, and I hope to pursue further education and career in a tech startup surrounding the same topic.
Outside of FFA, I am a wrestler, a judo player, a competitive powerlifter, and a golfer. I also play piano, and am a member of my school's Model United Nations.
I am so proud to represent Hawaii FFA this year, and cannot wait to connect with you all!
With Aloha,
Nicholas
Kenneth Matsuda has a unique SAE project: a lei garden, which focuses on spreading Hawaiian culture throughout his community.
