INDIANAPOLIS – The National FFA Talent auditions are underway at the 90th National FFA Convention & Expo. In the talent competition, members show off their skills and compete to be named best of the best.
Sierra Milligan from Georgia is the National FFA Talent coordinator. “This brings in students who may not have an agricultural background, but they are passionate about FFA and want to use their talents,” Milligan says. “For the students to get up on stage is amazing. Over the week you can see them blossom.”

Milligan holds a passion for music herself. “I grew up singing in a family band. I performed in the Georgia FFA Talent in high school, so I absolutely love it. I’m doing something that brings me back to my childhood of singing. I get to watch students fulfill their dreams.”
Tayla Scott of the Screven FFA Chapter in Georgia auditioned in round one. “I’ve always loved to sing. FFA is such a great organization, and it allows students to express themselves and do what they love. It would mean the world to me to perform on stage during a session.”
Scott has long-term career goals in the music industry. “I currently have a record label I started called Speak Truth Records. We (her partners) were all involved in church, singing and playing instruments. We thought to make a record company that’s different from other record companies where most of the profit goes toward the artist.” You can listen to her music at speaktruthrecords.com.
Every student who auditions will perform on stages throughout Indianapolis. The top 15 finalists will compete in round two on Thursday at 5:15 p.m. and then the top three on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where the national winner will be chosen.
