National FFA Week is an incredible week during which FFA members from around the country come together to support the organization. Every year, CORE Butte FFA holds a special schoolwide rally to inform the school about FFA. The current standing officer team leads this rally, which has lots of participation.

“Being able to host games with my friends, watching the crowd get excited and supporting fellow students is such a rewarding experience,” says 2024-25 CORE Butte FFA Secretary Jessica Heartman.

Let the Games Begin

To kick off the rally, CORE Butte FFA officers hyped up the crowd. Each officer introduced themselves and explained the rally’s first game: a potato race. The objective was for each contestant to race a potato across the building with a broom while weaving in and out of cones.

The next game on the itinerary was a barrel race. Contestants lined up and raced around the barrels as fast as they could with a stick horse. The third game was “red light-green light,” but with a twist. Rather than simply running, eight contestants jumped across the gym with a bouncy ball. Lots of laughs filled the room during this game.

The fourth and final game was a balloon leg pop, and two students per class competed. Their objective was to pop other people’s balloons, which were tied around their ankles while keeping their balloons safe.

Overall, the rally was a success. This event helped showcase how fun FFA can be while advocating for National FFA Week.
