Like many members, being an FFA member is a family tradition for Brian Field. His father was a state officer in the 1940s, and his brother, sister and daughter are all former state officers.
“It’s genetic, so giving back is extremely important in our family,” he adds.
As the current chair of the National FFA Foundation Board of Trustees, Field understands the importance of shaping the future of the National FFA Organization. He says the responsibility to feed the future generations falls on the leaders, innovators and business people who are involved in and connected to our organization.
“It no longer goes to just producing product, but marketing…and the management of the technology, robotics — everything,” Fields says. “To see FFA moving to feed this new generation, that has to be done.
“The giving back is where it starts,” he says. “Our heart is in the FFA.”
