During National FFA Week celebrations in 2024, Culver’s announced the launch of its new FFA Ambassador Program. In addition to strengthening the long-standing relationship between Culver’s and National FFA, this program is designed to recognize outstanding FFA members and the work they’re doing in their chapters and communities.

“We noticed there was an opportunity to have stronger connections with students who could help us showcase why Culver’s and FFA work together,” says Alison Demmer, senior marketing manager at Culver’s.

As part of the year-long program, selected ambassadors can earn up to $2,500 for their chapters by participating in FFA advocacy events hosted by Culver’s. For example, ambassadors can purchase a scoop of custard in recognition of Culver’s Scoops of Thanks Day and post a picture on social media. Ambassadors can also host a Thank You Farmers Project at their local Culver’s, participate in a survey, attend a webinar or volunteer for a shift in the Culver’s booth during the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo.

“We’re looking forward to seeing what positive stories come from this first class of ambassadors,” Demmer says. “We also want to see the ideas they may have to make a future program better.”

As a Culver's FFA Ambassador, Madison Melendez is participating in events and raising funds for her chapter.

Madison Melendez, a Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences FFA member and one of this year’s ambassadors, says her chapter will likely use the money she raises to purchase FFA jackets and supplies for chapter events, as well as cover costs associated with state and national conventions.

“I’ve been an active member since I joined FFA as a freshman, but I always wanted to do more,” she says. “Now that I’m able to help my chapter and expand my involvement, it will feel great!”

This year, Melendez plans to participate in several FFA advocacy events, including serving custard during national convention and interacting with attendees. “This opportunity opens the door to many new friendships and relationships,” she adds.

Demmer says Culver’s enjoys supporting future leaders in agriculture in many different facets, and members can apply to work at their local Culver’s as part of their supervised agricultural experience.

“There are so many things that make FFA members great, and Culver’s is proud to be able to support them in whatever ways they need,” she says.
